Back to back
Q. My boyfriend recently proposed to me and we have set a date for September this year. The only problem is my back is full of unsightly acne scarring. I am worried I may not be able to show my back at my wedding.
A. Virginia Williams says: The back is an area that is often neglected, mainly because we don't see it and it is awkward to reach. Book a course of six 'bacial' treatments at your professional Skincare Centre. The 'bacial', aka the back facial, is a treatment focusing entirely on your back. The deep cleanse and exfoliating scrub will eliminate a build up of dead skin cells, while a mud masque will draw out any impurities in the area.
Microdermabrasion can also be used to reduce the appearance of scarring. Regular exfoliation at home three times per week will also help to guard against further breakouts. If you have trouble reaching the parts that need exfoliating, get your fiancé to help you, as I am sure he wants you to feel your best on the big day. |

Facing facts
Q. My wedding is in six weeks time, and with the stress of arranging it all, the skin on my face has started to breakout. What can I do to put things right in such a short timeframe?
A. Virginia Williams says: Because you are stressed your skin is bearing the brunt of it. I would recommend you have a course of three facials - have one every fortnight - to treat the breakouts and desensitise the skin.
Your professional skin care therapist will be able to use technology to deeply cleanse the skin and kill any bacteria that may be evident on the skin's surface.
It is imperative that you carry out a strict homecare regime, which should consist of you exfoliating and using a masque every other day until these breakouts have been reduced. |
